Painting “the invisible one”

The Berlin painter Jianjiang Chen works with oil and acrylic on canvas. His main motifs are portraits and landscapes. His paintings have an unusually matte structure for oil colors which he achieves through a painting technique he developed himself. They also capture light in a way that lets them shimmer gently.

In his works there are always references to famous painters of the 20th century like Abram Akhipov, Max Liebermann, George Bellows, John Sloan, Isabell Bishop and Edward Hopper.
