Gernot Wolfram was born in Zittau in 1975. He writes essays, novels, short stories and theater texts and has published numerous articles and essays in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, WELT, Süddeutsche Zeitung, taz and Jüdische Allgemeine. Above all, he writes about the marginal experiences of people traveling or having to travel between different cultures and addresses people’s “nomadic experiences” in large metropolises. For his short story “Am Radio” (“On the Radio”), he received the Walter Serner Prize in 2003 and in 2010, he received the Inselschreiber Sylt Prize. His short stories have been translated into eight languages.
