Lena Gorelik, born in St. Petersburg in 1981, emigrated with her family to Germany in 1992. With her debut novel “Meine weißen Nächte” (“My White Nights”) (2004), she was celebrated as a discovery. With “Hochzeit in Jerusalem” (“Wedding in Jerusalem”) (2007), she was nominated for the German Book Prize. Her novel “Die Listensammlerin” (The List Collector) (2013) was awarded the Book Prize of the Ravensburger Verlag Foundation. Her current novel “Mehr Schwarz als Lila” was nominated for the 2018 German Youth Literature Prize.
