María Cecilia Barbetta

María Cecilia Barbetta was born in 1972 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and grew up in the immigrant district of Ballester where her novel “Nachtleuchten” takes place. She came to Berlin in 1996 where she has remained ever since. Her first novel, “Änderungsschneiderei Los Milagros” (“Miracle Alterations”) (2008), was awarded the Aspects Literary Prize, among others. Her second novel “Nachtleuchten” (2018) was honored with the Alfred Döblin Prize and was shortlisted for the 2018 German Book Prize.
